About Paul
Paul grew up in Palmerston North, New Zealand riding mountain bikes, hiking in the back country, and snowboarding whenever he could. He completed a BSc at Massey University, New Zealand in Ecology and Zoology. Paul’s graduate training included hydrological monitoring and modelling for his Honour’s research. For his MSc he used machine learning techniques to predict abundance and diversity of freshwater fish populations. His PhD research is looking at spatial ecology and predator interactions of feral horses in the Alberta foothills using GPS telemetry and capture-recapture techniques using a spatially explicit trail camera network.
