About Laura
Laura is from Manitoba, where she first developed a love for animals great and small. She completed her BSc (Hons) in Biology with a minor in Anthropology and Archaeology at the University of Saskatchewan. Her current work focuses on assessing the risk that chronic wasting disease (CWD) poses to boreal caribou in Saskatchewan using a trail camera array. Understanding the actual transmission probabilities of CWD in the province will help to inform management actions for Saskatchewan's boreal caribou. Her main interests include conservation and population ecology, with a soft spot for mammals. She enjoys any work that gives her the opportunity to spend the day outdoors. In her spare time, Laura enjoys walking in nature, reading, and learning to embroider and cross stitch.
